Suzanne Jarvis
MPH
Director of Strategic Initiatives
Suzanne Jarvis previously held the position of Executive Director for Living Forward Alliance where she developed and led an awardwinning personal growth and re-entry program for incarcerated women in addiction treatment. Working in the criminal justice system, she saw how social stigma, limited funding, and lack of public policy negatively impacts underserved populations in recovery and switched professional efforts to support new criminal justice initiatives for individuals with substance use disorders.
She volunteers for the Houston Recovery Initiative as the Recovery Advocacy Committee Chair. Her most recent advocacy project is a documentary called Generation Found. Her role as Associate Producer helped lead the Houston community in making and funding the film. Created by Greg Williams, director of The Anonymous People, Generation Found tells the story of Houston’s unique community support and programs for youth and family recovery. Suzanne presented with Greg Williams at the 2014 American Public Health Association National Conference on the impact of films on public health. In October 2016 she was awarded the Distinguished Advocate award by the Houston Chapter of the Texas Association of Addiction Professionals.
Suzanne has a BA in Psychology from Franklin and Marshall College and has an MPH in Healthcare Management at the University of Texas Health Science Center School of Public Health. She is an avid cyclist, enjoys CrossFit, travel, and the arts.
